Field Trip to High Island Reservoir East Dam
On 30 January 2026, our Geography students embarked on a field trip to the East Dam of High Island Reservoir in Sai Kung (西貢萬宜水庫東壩). As a part of the UNESCO Global Geopark, it showcases one of the rare volcanic hexagonal rock columns formed over 140 million years ago from ancient super volcano eruptions.
Students gained deeper insights into Hong Kong's unique geological history, volcanic processes, and coastal landforms. The trip fostered environmental awareness and enthusiasm for geography.
