2024-2025 Lenten Charity Service
This year's Lenten campaign theme is "Pilgrims of Hope," encouraging us to extend our care and compassion to the elderly, the poor, and the youth, thereby spreading hope. In this season of Lent, filled with love and dedication, our Religious Education Team and SAGC Volunteer Team visited theH.K.C.M.I.S. Ko Chiu Rd. Ctr. Of Christ Love for the Aged, conducting a heartwarming and meaningful outreach activity.
Our school and the elderly center each prepared various games and competitions, spending a joyful and delightful morning together. Our teachers and students shared the popular youth game "Jenga" with the elderly, while the elderly center introduced the "Mölkky" competition to our students, creating a harmonious atmosphere filled with laughter and cheerful conversations.
Through sincere interactions, our students not only brought joy to the elderly but also gained valuable life wisdom from them. This Lenten Charity Volunteer Service not only deepened our students' understanding of the importance of caring for the elderly but also effectively cultivated their empathy and social responsibility.
Through the Lenten campaign, we hope everyone can prepare for the arrival of Easter through words and actions, reflect on the significance of Lent, and extend care to those around them, conveying love and compassion.

"During this activity, we played two games with the elderly, namely Jenga and Mölkky. We had a pleasant morning. I think this activity was very meaningful. The elderly were full of enthusiasm and wisdom. We learned a lot from their teachings and reflections. It made me realize that winning or losing didn't matter. Seeing the smiles on their faces made everything worthwhile. These activities also reminded me that many elderly people need relaxation, fun, and social interaction, but they may lack family and friends to accompany them. Therefore, I will participate in similar activities in the future, and I will pay more attention to and accompany the elderly around me."

"During the activity at the elderly centre, I deeply felt the power of love and care. Interacting with the elderly generation and listening to their stories made me realize the preciousness of every life. Through the activity with the elderly, I saw their smiles, which made me understand the importance of companionship. This experience not only warmed their hearts but also deeply impacted me, inspiring me to continue spreading love and care. This activity made me understand the true meaning of companionship and love. This activity not only brought joy to the elderly but also allowed me to re-examine life. What I want to convey most is love, respect, and companionship. In the future, I hope to encourage more people to participate and work together to create a caring society!"
