Lunar New Year is the most significant and traditional festival in China. To enhance non-Chinese-speaking(NCS) students' application of Chinese and their understanding of Chinese culture and national identity, our F.1 NCS students participated in an activity of writing spring couplets. This allows students to learn through entertainment and gain more exposure to Chinese culture. Writing spring couplets is a form of blessing, hope, sentiment, and inspiration. It is a heartfelt gift created with a brush and ink. As the new year begins, our students wish everyone good fortune and health in the Year of the Snake.
